Allosaurs

Allosauroidea is a superfamily of theropod dinosaurs that lived from 210 to 65 million yeara ago. Members of the superfamily Allosauroidea are referred to as allosauroids or simply allosaurs. Informally, they are sometimes called giganotosaurs or carcharodontosaurs, however these are sub-families of Allosauridae. Allosauroids range from less than three meters to more than 12 meters in length, and from a few hundred kilograms to 15 tons.

Allosauroids were one of the most successful of theropod dinosaurs, ranging from the beginning of the Jurassic to the end of the Cretaceous. The first allosauroid was Sinraptor of the early Jurassic. The last allosauroids were Giganotosaurus and Carcharodontosaurus from around 90 to 65 million years ago.
